HKOI 2026/27 Apply / Nomination Results

Each day secondary school in Hong Kong may nominate up to 8 students to the Senior Group and 8 students to the Junior Group.

  • – Senior Group: Born on or after 1st July 2007
  • – Junior Group: Born on or after 1st July 2010 AND have more than 2 years remaining in their normal course of secondary school study (e.g. S1–S4 in HKDSE curriculum). Among the 8 Junior Group nominated students, at most 6 may be from S4 (or equivalent).

HKOI only accepts nominations through schools. Please contact your school’s ICT subject master or teacher-in-charge to apply.

Information about the nomination procedure will be published here on 2nd October 2026 (Friday). Meanwhile, schools are encouraged to collect and organize the details of interested students (Full English name and Chinese name on HKID, date of birth and level of study) in advance to prepare for the application.

Deadline: 27th October 2026 (Tuesday) 23:59:59.

The tentative list of accepted schools will be posted on 30th October 2026 (Friday).

This year, the quota is 600 students for the Senior Group and 540 students for the Junior Group. Nominations will be accepted on a first-come-first-serve basis*. Schools are strongly encouraged to submit their nomination forms early.

*According to the submission time provided that the form with signatures and school chop has been uploaded. If a form is amended after submission, untouched students will retain their original queue positions, while added, replaced, or modified students will have their queue positions reset to the time of amendment.
