Privacy and Data Policy
Your privacy is the concern of the Hong Kong Olympiad in Informatics Organizing Committee. We respect personal data and are committed to fully implementing and complying with the data protection principles and all relevant provisions of the Personal Data (Privacy) Ordinance.
Note: This policy only describes personal data not already included in the HKOI Online Judge Privacy and Data Policy.
Data we collect
We collect data about your physical environment, your activities and the content in your display in the form of video and audio streaming.
How do we collect it
Your data is created by you through screen capture, camera video capture and microphone audio capture. Then the data is voluntarily provided by you to us over Google Meet. The data are retained using the recording functionality in Google Meet.
Why do we collect it
Your data is necessary for us to conduct the competition and to assess your performance. If you fail to provide all the data, or if any of the data provided are inaccurate or incomplete, the processing of your competition results will be affected and hence you may be disqualified from the competition.
How do we use it
We take appropriate steps to protect your data against loss, unauthorized access, use, modification or disclosure. You agree that your data will be transmitted and stored in our servers globally.
The HKOI Organizing Committee and the invigilators are authorized to access the data. The data will be deleted on 31st January 2021 by default. You will be informed by us if the retention period shall be extended.
It is your right to access and correct your data that we hold in accordance to the Ordinance. If you wish to make such requests, please contact us in writing to Personal Data (Privacy) Officer, The Hong Kong Association for Computer Education, Kowloon East P.O. Box 68432.
